The Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code (Act 247 of 1968) provides the framework for the creation of and updates to municipal comprehensive plans. The current North Whitehall Township Comprehensive Plan was adopted in 2009. The Plan is used as a general framework to manage future growth and preservation, generally over the upcoming ten (10) year period. Topics considered in the Plan typically include natural resources, land uses, infrastructure (water & sewer), transportation, community facilities and services.
This Spring the Township kicked off the update to the Comprehensive Plan. The Plan update is anticipated to take approximately twelve months to complete. As of the end of October there has been significant progress made in the information gathering phase of the plan update.
