Public Works - Current Projects

Each year in the Spring after the snow and ice have melted, the Public Works Department evaluates all the roads in the Township. Depending on the severity of the winter and damage that occurs a list of roads is developed that will be considered high priority for repairs.

Some roads require general pot hole repair while others may needs more extensive repairs. In addition to repairs needed due to the winter, some roads are scheduled for maintenance projects. These may include crack sealing, oil and chipping and micro-surfacing. It is only in severe cases that entire road surfaces are totally overlaid with new asphalt wearing surface.

This is the most expensive form of road work and is usually done only in severe cases or where multiple road way cuts have been made and the driving surface is very uneven.

The following roads will be crack sealed by the end of 2023.

Park Valley Bridge is scheduled to be replaced starting on/about Monday, August 14th, 2023. Park Valley Road will be closed between Glencrest Road and Scott Road. Please follow the detour signs. Currently, there is no timeline for the completion of this project. Please contact the Director of Public Works if you have any questions.
